Earlier this year I had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented Ottawa wedding vendors to bring together this beautiful Brunch Stylized shoot coordinated by Charmed Events and shot at the beautiful Baldachin Inn.
We are really excited to have this Stylized Brunch Wedding featured in the 2014 Spring/Summer edition of the Ottawa Wedding Magazine!
Wishtree Invitations and Stationary provided the perfect colour palette of yellow and navy blue to introduce the theme and overall feel for this shoot decorated with rich retro fabric and featuring fresh pops of citrus. The bride’s hair was drawn back away from her face yet cascading beautifully over her shoulder – a classic and elegant look done by The Curly Red Head Salon. From her long dark lashes to her light pink lipstick the bride looked natural yet sweet – a look brought together by Mandi Hutchinson, Makeup Artist. The gorgeous necklace and floral accents to the birdcage veil, handmade by Akell Originals, completed the bride’s look with the perfect touch of glamour.
The vintage flowered lace cake was inspired by the theme of the Spring shoot and brought to fruition by Ottawa’s own Christie’s Cakes. The repeating pattern of appliquéd flowers in tone-on-tone yellow and white-on-yellow emulates a flowered lace that perfectly mirrors the bride’s gown by Sophia Tolli provided by All That Glitters Bridal Boutique. The sugar flowers, inspired by the real flower arrangements from Sage Designs, provided a modern twist to the vintage backdrop of the cake, especially with the dark royal blue of the ranunculus and the whimsy of the craspedia. Sophie from Sage Designs created a natural and modest look in the bouquets, centerpieces and linens – consisting of a combination of ranunculus, tulips, craspedia, berries, and various rural blooms to suit the exposed brick of the Baldachin Inn. Delicate shoots of mimosa are incorporated into the centerpieces for a whimsical touch. The signature piece, a tall tree centerpiece, consists of luscious hand-wired greenery and yellow salidago blooms.
